Description

This Crispy Crab Rangoon Recipe is the ultimate party appetizer. Golden, crunchy wontons filled with creamy crab and cream cheese make a crowd-pleasing bite-sized snack. Serve them fried, baked, or air-fried for an irresistible addition to any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 package wonton wrappers (about 40 pieces)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: chili flakes or extra herbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare Filling: In a bowl, mix cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, Worcestershire, and sugar until smooth.
  2. Fill Wrappers: Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  3. Seal: Moisten edges with water, fold diagonally or into rangoon shape, and press to seal.
  4. Fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry 4–5 rangoons at a time for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve: Enjoy hot with sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, or chili dip.

Notes

  • Fresh crab offers the best flavor, but imitation works for budget-friendly versions.
  • Seal edges tightly to prevent bursting during frying.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan; fry in batches for crisp results.
  • For a lighter option, bake at 375°F or air fry at 370°F for 8–10 minutes.
  • Best served immediately while hot and crispy.
