Description
Creepy-cute Spider Web Guacamole! Creamy guac topped with a piped sour cream spider web and an optional olive “spider.” Perfect for spooky snacks, Halloween party food, and an easy Halloween appetizer—use Good Foods Chunky Guacamole or homemade.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups guacamole (homemade or Good Foods Chunky Guacamole)
- 1/4 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for tang)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional, to taste)
- Tortilla chips, pita chips, or veggie sticks, for serving
- Optional garnishes: black olives (for spider), cherry tomatoes, jalapeño slices
Instructions
- Prepare guacamole: In a shallow bowl, spread guacamole evenly. Smooth the surface; splash with lime juice if desired.
- Bag the sour cream: Spoon sour cream into a piping bag (or sandwich bag) and snip a small tip.
- Draw the web: Pipe two intersecting lines to make a cross, then two diagonals (✳). Connect the lines with gentle curved arcs to form a web.
- Make a spider (optional): Use half a black olive for the body; cut another olive into thin strips for legs. Place on the web.
- Serve: Ring the bowl with chips or veggies and serve immediately.
Notes
- Shallow dish = clearer web. Keep sour cream chilled so the lines hold shape.
- Use thick sour cream or Greek yogurt; watery products won’t pipe well.
- Don’t crowd with toppings—the web should be the star.
- Shortcut: Store-bought chunky guacamole saves time; focus on decorating.
- Storage: Press plastic wrap directly on the surface and refrigerate up to 1 day; add web just before serving to keep it crisp and bright.
